How to Watch DAZN in 2020: Watch Sports from the US & Canada
There are all sorts of streaming services competing for your attention and offering the best movies, TV and music. DAZN targets sports fans by offering a wide selection of programs to viewers around the world. If you’ve ever wondered how to watch DAZN, this is the article for you.
DAZN is relatively new, but it has gained a lot of traction since it launched in 2016. It’s based in the UK, despite not being available there. In many places DAZN is the only way to watch particular tournaments or matches legally. It was the only service to show all the premier league games in Japan last season, for example.

What Is DAZN?
DAZN is available on most devices. It runs in the browser, so it can be used on any regular PC. There are also DAZN apps for Android and iOS, so you can use it on the go. Check your bandwidth, though, because it might get expensive on pay-as-you-go. It also runs on game consoles and most modern TVs.
The stream quality is 1080p. That’s good enough for most people, but a 4K option would be nice. The quality is generally good. We haven’t analyzed it technically, but the picture is sharp. We suspect the frame rate is lower than cable TV’s, though, at least some of the time. It has occasional quality dips during live events, but they’re infrequent and have improved over the last year or so.
There’s a wide selection of sports, including American football, soccer, tennis, motorsports, boxing and basketball. The MLB, the NFL and Formula 1 are included, but take a look to see which is available in your location. Soccer fans may also appreciate our how to watch the Champions League article.
The DAZN schedule is unpredictable. Games are streamed live and typically available to stream for a week or two afterward. You can watch broadcasts or just the highlights, though some things are only available as highlights. You also get the occasional interview or special feature, such as weekly league roundups.
In addition to the U.S., it’s available in Canada, Japan, Brazil and several European countries, but English-speaking Europeans might need to take advantage of our best VPN for the UK or best VPN for Ireland articles.
DAZN Cost
DAZN costs $19.99 per month in the U.S. It recently doubled its prices in an attempt to push users toward its annual plans. An annual subscription, at $99, is much cheaper than its monthly offering.
It offers a decent selection of payment methods. In addition to paying via credit card, you can use PayPal, Apple Pay, Amazon In-App Purchasing and Google Play Billing. Prepaid cards are also available in some locations.
DAZN’s free trial lasts a month, so you can check out what the quality is like for you and see what sports are on offer. The selection varies by region, so make sure what you want is available to you.
Usefully, you can pause your subscription automatically. If your team plays on Saturday and your subscription renews the next Wednesday, you can delay the renewal until the next game you want to watch. The feature isn’t presented to you until after you click the cancel subscription button, though, so it’s good to know it’s there.
DAZN USA and DAZN Canada
If DAZN isn’t available in your country or you prefer the selection offered elsewhere, you may be able to use a VPN to access it. We have many VPN articles, so take a look at our best VPN for streaming guide, or jump to our ExpressVPN review to read about one of the very best. You may take a performance hit when accessing it that way, so it might be worth doing it via the free trial at first.
A VPN can mask your location, making it look like you’re in almost any country in the world and allowing you to access services that are only available there. That may or may not be legal, but in many cases, geographic restrictions are down to the minutiae of licensing deals and the platform holders are happy to take your money.
Streaming DAZN
There are other ways to get your sports fix, of course, including several free streaming websites, such as Couchtuner. Be careful, though, because the content on those websites can be illegal or dangerous. To learn about protecting yourself from cybercrime, read our online privacy guide.
There’s also Kodi, a media application that runs on smart TVs and other devices. It can take the legwork out of connecting to streams, but again, you should be cautious with it because not all the content it offers is legal or safe.
Kodi has a DAZN plugin, but it isn’t official. Kodi comes in many flavors, most of which we’ve sampled here at CommQueR.com. If you’re considering using it, read our Kodi guide or best Kodi builds article.
If you’ve missed a game and want to catch up on it, you may be able to find a torrent to download. Again, the legality of that will depend on the sport, the event and which country you’re in. Take a look at our best VPNs for torrenting if you want to err on the side of caution.
If you get tired of sports, there’s plenty of quality TV available to stream. Read our how to watch Outlander article or, if you prefer anime, our how to watch One-Punch Man guide.
>Final Thoughts
DAZN is a great option for sports lovers because of its broad selection of events and good picture quality. It isn’t too expensive, either. If you can’t access it where you are, there are several potential workarounds, as we’ve seen.
If you aren’t into sports but need something to watch, take a look at our how to watch Amazon Prime Video article for an alternative. Amazon Prime Video has all sorts of movies and TV shows to keep you occupied.
If you’ve given DAZN a try or tried accessing it using any of the methods we’ve discussed, please let us know how you got on in the comments. Thanks for reading.
