How to Watch Netflix With CyberGhost in 2020
When it comes to Netflix, there are few services that work as well as CyberGhost. Not only does CyberGhost work with Netflix, but it’s also rated on our top VPNs and best VPN for Netflix lists. From signing up to replacing your IP address, here’s how to watch Netflix with CyberGhost.
Although CyberGhost is one of the top VPN services for the task, there are alternatives. Our favorite is ExpressVPN, which took down CyberGhost in our head-to-head matchup. You can learn more about this VPN in our ExpressVPN review or, if you want to give it a shot yourself, sign up with a 30-day money-back guarantee.
How to Watch Netflix With CyberGhost
- Sign up for an account
- Log in and download the application
- Expand the window using the yellow arrows
- Click the “for streaming” tab
- Select a server based on the Netflix content you want to view
- Load a movie or TV show
Sign Up for CyberGhost
First things first, head to CyberGhost.com and sign up for an account. There’s a one-day free trial you can use, but with a generous refund policy, it’s best just to sign up for a full account.
Once that’s done, log in to your account and download the application. You can have up to seven devices active at once, which is why CyberGhost is probably the best VPN for multiple devices.
To log in, click the “my account” button in the top-right corner. Once you’ve entered your username and password, you can find all of the installers in your account dashboard, as well as how many devices you have active.
Download the App and Connect
Once the application has finished installing, open it up and click the yellow arrow facing left (it’s toward the bottom corner). This will expand the interface, bringing up the full list of servers. Click the “for streaming” tab and connect to a country that has the Netflix content you want to watch.
There are also some servers for specific streaming devices, like the Amazon Fire TV Stick (you can also read our guide on how to install CyberGhost on Firestick).
If one of these servers doesn’t work for you, you can always try connecting to a normal server, too. Just because the list is specified as “for streaming” doesn’t mean the other servers don’t also work for streaming. Still, the specialized servers are a good place to start when streaming Netflix.
Load Netflix
Now that you have a fresh IP address, head to Netflix and see if you can load any content. Many VPN providers claim that they can stream Netflix, but in practice, it’s usually a process of trial and error. If you want to unblock Netflix, you may need to try out a few different servers before it takes. For us, U.S. Netflix worked right away. If you’re able to load content, then the server you chose works and everything is fine. You may encounter an error code, though. If you do, browse the list of VPN servers for an alternative and try again.
Does CyberGhost Work With Netflix?
Based on our testing, CyberGhost works with Netflix like a dream. It’s one of the few VPN providers that has servers dedicated to the streaming service, allowing you to replace your IP address and start streaming Netflix. Plus, the VPN is fast, so you can usually stream content in full 4K.
Why CyberGhost Is a Great Netflix VPN
Now that you know how to stream on Netflix with CyberGhost, let’s talk about why this VPN provider works so well for streaming, in general.
Servers Around the World
The point of a VPN is to replace your IP address while encrypting your connection. The first part of that — the IP address bit — is what matters for streaming. When you connect to a VPN server, you’ll appear online as if you were in the country where that server is located.
Naturally, Netflix, as a streaming service, has distribution agreements with multiple production houses, leading to wildly different content libraries around the world.
In short, Netflix has a VPN ban. With a large server network, though, you can get around that ban. With well over 6,000 servers, CyberGhost has plenty of options to unblock Netflix, making it one of the go-to VPN services for streaming.
Ultra-Fast Speeds
With so many VPN servers, you’d be forgiven for thinking CyberGhost is slow. Thankfully, it’s not. Based on our testing, this VPN provider is one of the fastest on the market. It’s not quite as fast as NordVPN, but that’s a pretty high bar to clear, especially with NordVPN’s impressive WireGuard-based NordLynx protocol (read our NordVPN review).
Top-Notch Security
Behind everything is CyberGhost’s top-level security. Your connection is secured using AES-256 and OpenVPN, the perfect combination of a VPN protocol and encryption. No matter how many IP addresses you jump between, your connection will be protected with the best of the best in terms of security.
Strict No-Logging Policy
When discussing VPN providers, privacy is equally as important as security. CyberGhost maintains a strict no-logs policy. The effectiveness of VPNs is all over the place, but with CyberGhost, that’s hardly a concern. It’s a top-tier VPN provider, and during our many years of testing it, it has always maintained a clear stance on privacy.
Final Thoughts
CyberGhost takes the work out of cycling through IP addresses to stream Netflix. Nearly all of the locations in this VPN’s network work with the media giant and are pretty fast, to boot.
